The Schooling and Science Business Union is looking on lecturers and pedagogical team of workers in Bremen’s town faculties to head on a day-long caution strike on Tuesday. Since maximum lecturers are civil servants, GEV does no longer be expecting a major lack of instructing. On the other hand, there may well be gaps in afternoon care and private help for inclusion scholars, stated GEV state spokesman Fabian Kintz.

The background is collective bargaining for public sector workers within the federal states that has been ongoing since December 3. The union is looking, amongst different issues, for a seven p.c upper wage, however the Affiliation for Collective Bargaining of the German States (TdL) has thus far rejected it. “Prices continue to rise, so employees urgently need more income to maintain their standard of living,” Kintz stated. The continuation of negotiations is scheduled for Thursday in Potsdam.
