Deportations come a week after deadly knife attack in SolingenGermany has deported Afghan nationals today for the first time since August 2021, when the Taliban returned to power in the country.
Steffen Hebestreit, the German government spokesperson, described the Afghan nationals as convicted criminals, the Associated Press reported.The deportations came a week after a deadly knife attack in Solingen where the suspect is a Syrian citizen who had applied for asylum and reportedly disappeared and avoided deportation.
Germany does not have diplomatic relations with the Taliban.
